Kinda miss filming. I feel super accomplished and I can't stop watching the final edited film! Submitted everything last Monday and it was so satisfying dropping the whole package into the teacher's locker. Headed out for a celebratory dinner with the group (missing members!) and chilled with them! Amazed at the group chemistry, started this module and the very first film project 'Vending Machine' with them and I'm glad I ended the module with the same group (with an additional member!) ^^

Well, last week was just spent studying for Medsoc and I'm so glad that the holidays are finally here! Thank God that my first year in poly has ended too :) Still remembered how I almost got into a JC but hey, NO RAGRETS~ Haha! I feel that students who graduate from polytechnics really benefit a huge load because at the end of the day when we come out, we learn skills that are applicable to whatever line of work we want to be in eg. media. It's stressful at times but I think just the first year in poly has taught me a lot already, like really working as a team (not like the lame secondary school projects) and sort-of mastering softwares like Adobe and speech and the list goes on lah... Plus the friends I made are friends that I really hope to keep for life! :) Thanks to every friend I've made in my first year in poly, I don't have photos with everyone but all the photos/memories are etched in my mind ;) haha! 

I've been looking forward to church so much recently I don't know why, but this feeling is a good feeling! :) I'm gonna have church camp in June and it's super exciting! It's gonna be from the 16-20th and I'm gonna be celebrating my birthday in Malacca! Or at least I hope my family does something nice for me because I'M TURNING 18 TOO!

HULLO EVERYONE! Oh my goodness I went through hell week, second consecutive hell week in fact and I thank God that this insane period is FINALLY OVER! Well, now I understand why poly kids are always so stressed out during this CNY period because there are really so many things going on I sometimes even lose track of what day I'm at! But I think in spite of this craziness, I really did enjoy myself :)

Had a stayover at 4's house last week to do some webgra, and I think I should not ever go there again because when I go there with my friends we always end up being unproductive and laughing. Okay scrape that, no need to stayover, just simply going out to try to do work but somehow we end up chilling -.- But I really enjoy stayovers! :)

Sent Ben off to Tekong last Thursday too. It was my first time sending someone off to army and I really had loads of fun being a tourist (as usual), taking many photos as though I'm documenting the entire journey. The ferry ride was horrible though, I have bad sea sickness and the entire time I just felt so giddy :( But once on land I was fine. Had a tour of Tekong, like their bunks and some museum and heard the boys take their oath of becoming a soldier and fighting for Singapore! For the first time, I had nasi briyani too! I can't usually take spicy food but since it wasn't that spicy, I ate the whole plate clean so that was awesome haha!

Last Saturday I was given an opportunity to help out in a production, like a legit production and it was so fruitful and enriching! Was approached by my church friend to be a production assistant with another friend (Jamie) and so yeah we were just production assistants, small roles but huge responsibility! We ended up having to act as background actors like chefs chopping and cooking (which we really did, we melted chocolate with orange zests and almonds and chopped potatoes), acted as guests tasting food (which we really did, we tasted pork cheek beef tongue sea urchin pudding steamed chocolate pudding all the atas food lah at Lolla's) but we also did work like helping to buy snacks and drinks for the crew and ironing the host's clothes... Ended off the night eating durians at Geylang because that was our final location for the filming~~ I really learnt a lot from that day and I think it was an extremely good experience for a media student. In school we learn about production and filming and how to handle equipment but that was the first time I saw a real production, from where the director (nasty or not) makes the decisions to even gaffers setting up lights and reflectors. I learnt that tempers and personalities may clash but this is all part of the industry and we should really have patience in whatever we do! I wouldn't be surprised if I decide to go to the filming side of the media industry because it's really a fun job! (for me lah..)

The past few days have just been work work work... I'm so tired from school already but I really thank God for 'refilling' my strength tank! Sunday was filming so I burnt out one afternoon-night for that. Had to submit a final essay on Monday which was so horrendous, stayed up so many nights just doing research and trying to write the 1200-1500 words essay. Had my locvid written paper on Tuesday and I only started studying for it on Sunday so that was an achievement... Had a filming session on Wednesday and went to take photos for digpho at night, not to mention how many times I went to Chinatown before CNY to take photos too :( Had another 7h filming session yesterday which was an achievement because our crew was a little shorthanded and it was a major shoot yesterday but I'm really glad locvid has ended because filming can be really exhausting but the whole experience and the end result is fulfilling so yay :) Digpho presentation also went well thank God! Had my final webgra presentation today so sayonara webgra for now~~

I guess I've kinda unofficially ended my first year in poly (I've got 1 more paper 2 Mondays from now) and I am super thankful for learning so much the past year! It's been one hell of a roller coaster, all the stress and all the craziness too, and I'm super ultra mega thankful for all the friends made! Aiya, shall save this thanksgiving for another day. I need to go sleep now because I'm super tired from the lack of sleep the past weeks hah! Take care and happy last day of CNY and happy valentines day :)
